Johari Menelik Frasier
Actor, Composer, Lyricist


Johari Menelik Frasier is an actor, composer, and lyricist based in New York City with a focus in musical theatre. Some of his favorite roles include Old Man Strong in Urinetown with Fracture Theatre Co., Malvolio in Twelfth Night, or What You Will with Circle in the Square Theatre School, The Mikado in The Mikado with the MIT Gilbert and Sullivan Players, Chauvelin in The Scarlet Pimpernel with MIT Next Act, and Theodore Elijah James in Three Sisters: Tulsa 21 with the Applied Theatre Collective.
Johari has also had pleasure of choreographing select numbers as well as directing the full production of Curtains for MIT Next Act. He also choreographed The Scarlet Pimpernel and served as fight choreographer for both The Scarlet Pimpernel and Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida, all with MIT Next Act. His specialty is bladed fight choreography, where he synthesizes his fencing background with his training with renowned fight director B.H. Barry to create stimulating fights.
He is a graduate of the Circle in the Square Theatre School Two Year Professional Musical Theatre Workshop and holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Humanities focusing in Theatre Arts from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
